Claire at 6 months

Claire is 6 months old! This post is a little late but Claire is still 6 months old, so I am doing ok. I have about two or three posts that I am going to post in the next couple of days to catch up, so be checking! She has  made some developmental changes this past month. She is rolling all over the place! I will put her on a blanket with toys to play with and it will not be long before she is clear across the room. She grabs everything, so gone are the days where she will just sit in my lap while I eat. I have to be pretty much done eating if I am going to put her in my lap. Claire has gotten to where she wants to be a part of what we are doing, so she will often cry if I try to put her in the doorway jumper or exersaucer. She will stop the minute that she is picked up. She smiles all of the time! It is always this big, infectious smile.  I had a friend ask me the other day, "Is she ever not smiling?" She is such a joy! Now that she is 6 months old we have introduced foods to her. So far we have tried oatmeal and rice cereal, avocado, carrots and pears. The only hit has been carrots. Everything else Claire will just try to spit out. Little stinker! The past couple of weeks Claire has started waking up every 2-4 hours again at night to be fed. She will usually go right back to sleep, but it is still tough for me having to get up so often in the night. A couple of weeks ago she had a cold and the doctor said she had Bronchalitis along with Carly. It is a virus that is basically like a cold that causes some wheezing and coughing. It did not cause either child to have a fever. Unfortunately, there is no medicine for this virus. It can take about two weeks to get rid of it. It was so heartbreaking to just hear her coughing all night long. I figured that this was causing her to want to nurse more. The doctor said that this virus can cause babies to nurse inconsistently. Then, we went back to the doctor this week to get her shots and her cold had turned into an ear infection. This will be her second ear infection. Again, it had not turned into a full blown ear infection, but our doctor said her right ear was really yellow inside. She could also hear some junk in her  right lung. Last time it was her left ear, so at least it is a different ear this time. She said at this point we did not need to be concerned that this was her second ear infection. However, if she has another ear infection in two months, then it will start to be more of a concern. I am hoping that when we are through with this ear infection she won't be waking up as much. We still have not seen any teeth yet. Claire makes lot of different noises now like she is trying to talk to us. She is taking about 2 or 3 naps a day still. The first nap is usually around 10:30-11:00 for 30 minutes or an hour. The second nap is usually around 1:30 or 2:00 pm for the same time amount. Then, she will want to take another nap around 5:00 or 6:00 pm for 30 minutes to an hour again. Then, she usually goes to bed between 7:00-8:00. Her day usually starts between 8:00 or 9:00 am. She gets distracted easily so it is really hard for her to sleep in public unless she is really tired. She also does not like the cover-up for nursing, so it is hard for her to nurse outside of home unless we are in a private nursing room. She is sitting up for short amounts of time now. She is very ticklish! This is an easy way to get her to laugh. I have started working more with her on a sippy cup, too. She kind of just chews at it, but it is a start. Claire weighs 16.14 pounds. She is in the 75 percentile for her weight, length and head width. Way to go Claire! We love our little butterball! Overall, she is such a joy!

We cannot get enough of this smile!

Gone is the 6 month sticker! Of course I took it away pretty quickly, but  it was a soggy mess.
Hannah was over to play with Claire. Claire just kept trying to grab her.  It was funny.
We put up the pillow as a barrier.
Precious girls!
This was after we introduced food for the first time. This picture was taken after we gave her oatmeal cereal. It was all over her!

Still smiling!

The next couple of pictures show all three girls around the same age playing with the musical stage. You can see the resemblances between the three of them. Especially, Kate and Claire.
These two pictures show Kate. It seems like yesterday that Kate was doing this.

Claire's face in this pictures cracks me up! Only her Daddy would do this. Do not worry, Zack was standing right beside her in case she started to fall. He propped her up on top of our oven in our kitchen. So trusting!
