Family Time In Abilene

We had such a great time in Abilene last week. We feel very blessed that we have time off together in the summer. We were able to leave on Wednesday and come back on Sunday. It was really nice to be able to spend time with Zack's family. I love seeing how much they love Kate. She has two amazing aunts and grandparents that loved on her the whole time. Lauren, Zack's sister, has two daughters and a son that were there too. They are just precious! Lauren and Jason have done a wonderful job raising them. The top picture is of all the grandchildren with the grandparents. We also had some great pictures of Zack playing with them in the pool and of the girls in the taking an enormous bubble bath. Zack's parents babysat Kate so that we could go on a date. It was weird to not have her with us during that time, but also really good for Zack and I to have some alone time. We loved Abilene all together! I hope you enjoy the pictures and video...

Hannah and Kate

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of having Hannah and JT visit us. The Coats are some of our best friends and we had not been able to see them in awhile. Zack was out playing golf with Matt and some guys from church, so we were having girl time. It was so fun! I can't believe how big Hannah is getting. She is full of vocabulary and just beautiful. I wish I would of taken pictures of her splashing around in our hot tub, which we call the cold tub in the summer. She did such a great job. JT is also looking great being pregnant the second time around.
I loved this picture of Hannah holding Kate. She was so proud and doing such a good job. I think she is going to make a wonderful big sister to Baby Callie. I can't wait to meet her!

Good Pics...

I thought I'd post some recent pictures of Kate. Her personality is really coming out these days...like this picture below. Someone started making fun of her dad's skinny legs; so she immediately wanted to take some action. I told her fighting is not an appropriate way to handle her problems. Actually this picture was taken last Sunday right before going to church for the first time.
I was walking by the recliner when all of a sudden Kate jumped in this gift bag and said she was a gift to the world. I told her she was being kind of cocky.
I was trying to take some really cute pictures of her, but she kept making funny faces. We could never get her to be serious. I think she is taking after her mother.

After Aubrey and Kate were done playing and being goofy, they finally settled down for a nap. Those two girls sure were tuckered out.

More seriously, I do pray the Lord is blessing you and your family this summer season.

Till Later,

The Last Few Days

Over the lasts couple of days, we have had the chance to spend some time with family. It is always good to spend time with loved ones. As our usual tradition, we spent the Fourth over in Tami's hometown. This year was Kate's first Fourth of July. Many more to come young lady... Below are a few of the events that happened.

Fireworks over Lake Grapevine

Kate and Isabelle (1st cousin)

Tami, Kate, Aubrey, Kam, Lori, and Isabelle

Tami, Kam, and the girls

The Family (minus Dixie)
Ok, now we finally get to some real guy stuff...ribs! I finally learned how to make really good ribs. Below is a picture right before they were devoured. Yes, there were tender and juicy.

Because the ribs were not enough, I threw some steaks on the grill. These were the manager's special at Kroger. They were labeled T-bones but the two on the left were the size of a porter house.
First restaurant experience (luckily Kate slept the whole way through breakfast)

Till later.
