Today Kate and I visited Zack up at school. Kate had a great time playing basketball in the cafeteria and playing piano with Daddy. We took a similar picture a year ago, so you can see how much Kate has changed! Can you tell that she is teething? There is a nice circle of drool on her shirt. Nice!

Zack and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary last night. We really do not go out to eat very much at all, so it was such a special treat to go out to eat at a nice restaurant. We had never been to Bob's Steakhouse in Plano before. We had heard many great things about it, though. So we dropped Kate off of at my sister's house and we had a nice dinner. It was perfect! We made an early reservation for 5:15 pm and we had the whole restaurant to herself for a good hour. It has a very romantic atmosphere with dim lighting. Zack requested a good booth that was away from everything, and they did just that. We both ordered steak, shared a salad, and had a very yummy chocolate cake for dessert. They were so nice and let us have the cake for free because it was our anniversary. One complaint that we had heard was the noisy level. It did get pretty noise towards the end, but we were pretty much done with our dinner by then. If you want a nice quiet dinner out I would definitely go there earlier. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, partner, teammate and closest friend. This year has been a special year as we became parents together. Zack is such a great Dad to Kate! I look forward to watching their bond grow through the years. I am especially thankful that I have a husband that loves the Lord like I do. We enjoy the same things and want the same things out of life. I love you Zack! Happy Anniversary.

She is 1 today!
Kate is officially one today! I remember how exhausted I felt a year ago today in the hospital. Kate helped me remember that tired feeling by being up from 3:30-5:00 am last night. Thanks Kate! I started giving her whole milk last week. All she would do was spit it out. So I mixed it with some formula she was already used to and it has helped. I will gradually decrease the formula and add more milk. I am working on weaning her right now, which kind of makes me sad, but I also know it is time.
A new thing about Kate is she will go from a sitting position to standing without grabbing on to anything to pull herself up. She has been working on this for the past couple of weeks. She now seems to understand the words "No" and "Come here", which has been handy. She will walk around the whole house holding one toy and shaking it. She does not like to be in the stroller as long as she used to because she wants to be walking!

Things that we love about Kate:
-Of course her smile! It warms your heart.
-We love her little frame. It is just so cute to us. I know I would think it was cute even if it wasn't little because it would be her.
-How active she is. She is so busy, but it is fun to watch!
-She will dance or bounce up and down if she hears music or if we sing to her.
-When you go in to get her out of her bed, she will reach out for you.
-How she will play in her crib and wake up happy.

-She doesn't like to eat a whole lot, but when she firsts gets her food she will shovel it in her mouth like she hasn't eaten all day.
-We love to watch her walk.
-It is fun to watch her play in her playroom and see what she will play with and do on her own.
-She will flare her arms and shake them when she is excited.
That is just a simple list of the many things we love about our daughter.

Kate, it has been an adventure to be your parents this past year! We have grown as we have watched you grow. You have taught us a lot about life and blessings. It is a joy to be your parents. We love you so much and we are proud of you! "Thank you Father for giving us such a sweet little girl to love. We realize she is a gift from you, and we give her to you to be your servant."
Below is a short glimpse of how much our CupKate has grown...
