First Days of School/Camping trip

Kate's first day of First Grade! We were so excited that Kate was put in the same class as one of her best friends, Mckinley. It is hard to believe that we now have a first grader.

This year begins my first year teaching preschool! I was so excited that a 4's position opened up at our church where our kids also go to preschool. If I was to teach, I wanted to be able to teach the Pre-K class. I was very fortunate that they also wanted me for the position. I co-teach with Miss Julie. There are two classes for four year olds. They do not allow your own children or relatives to be in your class, so Carly is in the other four year old class. I love her teachers, so it works out for me!  I have really been enjoying seeing both Carly and Claire throughout the day at preschool.

Carly and Claire's first day of preschool picture. Kate started school two weeks before they did. Carly was ready for it to be her turn!  Kate nor Carly started preschool till they were three years old. However, Claire has to be in preschool now that I am teaching. She turned two the first week of school, so she is in the one's class. She is in the class with the older one year olds.  I have been so impressed with how well she is doing. I had never let her take a nap on a nap mat before. She has been in school five different days now. Every time she falls asleep right away on her nap mat. Yeah! In fact, today she fall asleep without her pacifier. WOW! She sometimes has a hard time with me leaving in the mornings, but she ends up doing fine and loving school for the rest of the day.

Carly's first day picture!  Carly has really been enjoying me being up at school with her. She acts so happy every time she sees me and comes over and gives me a hug. It is really nice having her just a couple of doors down from my classroom.

Here is Claire's first day picture. She loves her baby dolls just like her sisters.

Father/Daughter Camping Trip
Zack took Kate and Carly camping Sept. 12-14 at Lake Ray Roberts.. Rod and Brent also joined him along with Aubrey, Ryleigh, Harper and Owen.  Zack had recently bought a new tent and was excited to use it. A cold front had come through, so it made for a perfect camping weekend. This is the second camping trip at Lake Ray Roberts that the three Dads had taken together with the girls. It was Owen's first camping trip with them, though. It had been raining a lot that Friday morning so everything was moist. However, the campsite is more sand based than dirt based. So, luckily everything did not get too muddy. The girls enjoyed using different sand toys and pails to make this sand cake. Doesn't it look realistic?!

I love this picture of Owen. He is so happy!

Their campsite was right by the trails, so it made for fun entertainment for the girls. They loved biking on the trails. In this picture you can see them playing a game that they enjoyed playing while they were there. They would make one of them be a "bumblebee" and the other girls would be running away or biking away from the "bumblebee." Ryleigh spent most of her time running. I think she was playing the "bee."

Even though it was pretty cool outside the water was actually pretty warm. Lake Ray Roberts has a man made beach that the girls absolutely love! They swam for almost an hour. They also enjoyed playing with the sand. You can see the pure joy in Kate's face! Here she is swimming with Aubrey and Kate.

I love this picture that Zack captured of Carly with the water in the background.

A panoramic view of the man made beach.

I love the joy on Owen's face here, too.

The girls also enjoyed using the dolly to play with. Zack had brought it to help bring stuff back and forth to the campsite. It was an added bonus that they could use it to push and pull each other around.

A glimpse of their campsite.

S'mores time!

Carly loves to make silly faces! Here is her silly face after s'mores.

I love it that Kate still wanted to make up her bed even though we were camping.

Here Kate is getting ready to go. I love it that she has her little jewelry box with all of her goodies.

Carly crashed in the truck on the way home. She was exhausted from the weekend.

I love this picture of Kate. She looks so grown up. They made some great memories!
