I already wrote a lot about Carly at five months, so I will keep this pretty short. The main difference with Carly the past month is that she is now rolling all over the place. She is also sitting up for longer periods of time. We have also been working on sleep training her for the past couple of weeks, and she has finally started to self soothe herself to sleep at night. Usually at nap time or in the middle of the night she falls asleep while nursing and I just put her right to sleep. However, she was taking awhile to go to sleep at bedtime, so that was why we started the sleep training. She usually just wakes up once a night, but some times she wakes up twice. She goes to bed around 7:30 and will either get up at 12:00 and 5:00 am, or 3:00 and 7 am. She usually begins her day between 7:00-8:00 am. If she wakes up at 5:00 she will sleep for a couple more hours before starting her day. We have been pleased with that! She is a bigger baby than Kate was, but has less of an appetite. She usually nurses between 5-7 times a day. We have started her on sweet potatoes and oatmeal cereal. She really doesn't seem too interested in either. She will eat a little bit, but has trouble swallowing. About the only thing I can get her to drink from is a little cup(not a sippy cup). She still will not take a bottle either. She weighs 16.5 pounds which puts her between 50-75 percent. Her head and length are in the 50th percentile, so she is very healthy! Her naps are still the same from 5 months. She will usually take a short nap in the morning and then a long nap in the afternoon. She loves to look at books with baby faces on it and to smile at her sister. She also enjoys playing with the big legos and sucking on them. Kate loved Dixie at this age, and Carly seems to love her big sister. She has a very sweet temperament about her. We are continuing her medicine for acid reflux at this time. I have a feeling she is going to be more sensitive than Kate, but we will see. Enjoy the pictures!
