Kate is now 2 years old!
We are so proud of our precious daughter and big sister.
I think two years olds are so much fun! They are always picking up more words and things that you are not expecting. One of Kate's new words is hot. She will use it correctly most of the time. However, she will often say hot when her food is not hot. One of our favorite things about Kate is her joy. I hope this is something that we can always say about her. She is always smiling and laughing at people she doesn't even know. She seems to have such a good sense of humor. Her smile is always so big and refreshing. It makes you feel good about yourself. We love you Kate!

We had a wonderful birthday party for Kate on Memorial Day weekend. Kate absolutely loves to play at the park in our neighborhood; therefore, we decided the park would be a great place for us to have her birthday party. Our neighborhood park has a pavilion that worked out well for us to eat at and serve food. We had it mid-morning so it wasn't too terribly hot. Zack grilled out some yummy hamburgers and hot dogs. We also had some veggies and dip, watermelon, potato salad, chips, drinks, and dessert. Zack's parents were very helpful in getting there early with us and setting up, covering the tables, and blowing up balloons. It was a wonderful celebration!
I gave all the children a little pail and shovel for a party favor. They really enjoyed using them at the park.

Here are the desserts that I made. I did an outside theme with butterfly cakes and cupcakes that looked like worms were coming out of them.
You can't tell here, but I had made the number 2 on each side of the butterfly wings with M&Ms.
Kate and Aubrey eating their cupcakes, along with Will (love those sunglasses). Aubrey especially liked them! Thank you Brent and Erika for taking some good pictures.
One of the presents that we gave Kate was an outside chair. Here she is sitting in the garage with her Daddy while he works. She is always helpful with her Daddy anytime he is outside. Kate gets really upset if he goes outside without her.
Tuesday was her official birthday so Kamara and I took the girls to Chuck E. Cheese. They really enjoy the little cars.
We gave Kate her first sleeping bag. As you can see she is not too sure about it.
If you made it to the end of this post you can now read about Carly. I love this picture of her stretching. Why are babies so cute when the stretch? We went to the doctor for her two month check up a couple of weeks ago. She is doing really well! She weighs 12.5 pounds which puts her in the 90th percentile! Wow! Her head and length is considered to be in the 50th percentile. Her reflux has gotten better, but occasionally she will have a huge spit up. She is still sleeping in her car seat at night. She would love it if I would just let her sleep on her tummy, but of course that is not allowed. She is such a sweet baby. I love to hear her little coos when we are talking to her. She smiles all of the time. I have not gotten a really great picture of her smiling yet, but you can see a little bit of the smile on the second picture.

What sweet girls! I'm glad Carly's reflux has gotten better. Oh and I'm the bad mommy...Jack sleeps on his tummy and is a much happier little baby:)
Your girls are so sweet! I hope Carly's reflux continues to improve so that her sleep will too!
