My heart is heavy right now with all that is going on in the Pruett and Tate family. My brother in law, Jason, just recently found out that he has testicular cancer. Lauren(Zack's sister) and Jason along with their precious three kids live in Shreveport, LA. If you are a faithful reader you have seen me post about them numerous times. They are a wonderful, loving family who glorify God every day. Jason is a youth minister at the University Church of Christ there in Shreveport. They just found out yesterday that they will have to travel to and from MD Anderson hospital in Houston. This is a little overwhelming considering they have three kids and two of them are in elementary school. They have been told that this form of cancer is highly treatable which gives them hope. However, Jason is going to have to go through several months of surgery and treatments of chemotherapy, so they know they have a long journey ahead of them. It is hard for them to be so far away from family right now, but we know that they will receive lots of love and support from their church family in Shreveport. We will be doing as much as we can from a distance, too. Please join me in praying for them every day. This is the best thing that we can do for them right now. I know that God is going to change them during this process and use them to minister to others.
While I was thinking of them this morning along with Baby Ryleigh this song popped in my head. May it also encourage you today. See below some pictures of Jason and the Rogers family.
I Lift my Eyes Up(Psalm 121)
I lift my eyes up to the mountains
Where does my help come from
My help comes from You
Maker of heaven, creator of the earth
I lift my eyes up to the mountains
Where does my help come from
My help comes from You
Maker of heaven, creator of the earth
Oh how I need You Lord
You are my only hope
You’re my only prayer
So I will wait for You
To come and rescue me
Come and give me life

Jason is THE nicest and best guy. My heart has been hurting for them as well. Both branches of your sweet family are in my prayers
Tami, I'm praying for your burdens to be lightened by the power and sovereign strength of our Lord. When I've faced trials of many kinds, songs speak to me as well. The song "Held" by Natalie Grant always reminds me of how he carried me through tough times.
I'll be praying for Jason, too! I know this is all just so overwhelming for all of you, but my prayer is that God will grant ALL of you on both sides of your family strength and will use each of these trials to strengthen your faith! I love you, Tami!
My heart broke when I heard about Jason. I will be praying for all of your family....so sorry for all that you are going through...
