Christmas/Baby's name

The three of us celebrated Christmas at our house on December 22
Santa gave Kate a new kitchen, a wagon and a little chair for her to sit in!

We always have a big breakfast when we celebrate Christmas. We had coffee cake, sausage and eggs. Kate seemed to enjoy the tradition, too!

Santa also made a special visit at Nana and Papa's house in Grapevine. Wow!

While the girls were napping in Grapevine the four of us: Rod, Kamara, Zack and I went to see the Ice at the Gaylord. It was amazing!

On Christmas Eve morning we traveled to Abilene. It was quite the adventure! I was so glad that Zack was driving. Right after we past Ranger Hill it got really bad. We were at a complete stand still for about an hour and a half. There were many cars that were on the side of the road and trucks that could not make it on the ice. Zack then made the decision to travel through Cross Plains to get to Abilene. What was normally a 3 hour drive took us almost 7 hours! Kate usually doesn't take long naps in the car, but she took a two hour nap that day. What a blessing! We were glad when we got to Abilene safely and could enjoy the White Christmas! It was so hard to believe that we were in Texas throughout our drive. We just do not see this kind of snow!

Kate loves to draw and color right now. She enjoyed having some writing time with her cousins Bree and Emie.

We got to enjoy a week off together after Christmas as a family. We feel so blessed that Zack has two weeks off for Christmas. On one of the few nice days we went to the park.

On New Year's Day Kate and Aubrey got to try out the wagon together. So fun!

Also on New Year's Day we told our families the name of our baby girl. We have decided to call her Carly Lanee Pruett. Carly means strong, talented and pretty. We also thought it was cute with Kate. An added bonus is that it rhymes with Zack's Dad's name, Charlie. Lanee(rhymes with Renee, my middle name) is Kamara's middle name, so we named her after Kamara. Obviously, Kamara has and will always be a big part of my life. It was very special that we surprised her with naming Carly after her. Zack had a sweet speech that he said around the dining room table at my parent's house and we all got emotional hearing the sentiment behind the name.
