Enjoying the Outside

We have really been enjoying time outside the past couple of weeks. Kate is now at a point where she really likes to explore and play, especially outdoors. She now cries almost every time we leave our neighborhood park. We walk there almost every morning. That way we both get exercise. :)
When I was teaching, I remember having kids in my class that were just prone to injury. They were a little more fearless and less cautious. As a father, you prefer the first, as a mother the second. Well, it looks like Kate falls in the more fearless category. I notice this when we are in any play area or playground. I see the difference between Kate and other kids. Not to mention, Kate always has a nice amount of scrapes and bruises all over her. Kate will just walk right off something without any awareness of how high up she is. This week when we were at the park she climbed up the steps to the playground and then just kind of flipped down them. I had to run over there just to keep her from falling off the last pair of steps. The good thing is she isn't very dramatic about hurting herself. She seems to get right up and go again. That part I do like. I have seen many parents wince along with me as Kate attempts to do daring things. I really wonder what my future holds with her. Is this something that will continue or change? Do I really want to know?
On Thursday, we went to Jack Carter Pool with Kamara, Aubrey, Jill and Mason. We had a great time! It is a great pool for kids of all ages. They have a big pool that opens at 12:00 pm and their little kid pool opens at 10:00 am, which works really well for Kate's schedule. It cost three dollars for kids 3 and older. If you live close by, I recommend it!

I don't know if you can tell or not, but Kate's sunglasses are half off of her face and she doesn't seem to care.

At our neighborhood park

This is at Kamara's neighborhood park. They have a splash park there, too. Aubrey loved it! Kate wasn't so sure about walking through the water.

Yes, Kate is putting wood chips in her mouth. Don't worry, I got them out after this picture.

This is her face anytime we are playing outside!

Very cute! I love her hat and sunglasses! I can't believe how big she is getting! I wish Everett would be cool with eating wood-chips. Instead, he eats used band-aids of strangers and his own poop. I would give anything for him to just be content to pop a wood-chip in his mouth. : )
